Christmas Morning Cinnamon Rolls

Holiday baking is a cherished tradition that brings my family & friends together and there’s nothing like the comforting aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, which is our favorite on Christmas morning.

The moment I came across these Viral Cinnamon Rolls, I knew I had to give them a try. I’m accustomed to making creatively shaped cinnamon rolls for various holidays—like my Shamrock Cinnamon Rolls, Cinna-Bunnies, Back to School Apples, Ghost and Christmas Tree Cinnamon Rolls. So, it was a delightful change to simply use the rolls straight from the package!

I adore incorporating my cherished @mackenziechilds beautifully designed pieces to enhance the celebrations. They also serve as wonderful gifts!

Ingredients for Christmas Morning Cinnamon Rolls:

Instructions:

  • Preheat the Oven. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with baking spray.
  • Prepare rolls. Open cinnamon roll dough and arrange in the prepared pan, spacing them apart so they have room to rise. Set aside icing.
  • Pour heavy cream. Pour the heavy cream over and around the cinnamon rolls until it covers the bottom of the pan.
  • Mix together the rest of ingredients in saucepan. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until combined, then spoon or pour over the rolls. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  • Bake. Bake for 30 minutes until lightly browned on top and cooked through. You may want to remove the foil during the last 5-10 minutes if they aren’t brown enough for you.
  • Finish with icing. Ice the rolls with the icing from the packages.  Enjoy!

Once out of the oven, the golden-brown rolls are then covered with a generous layer of icing, melting slightly from the heat, creating a sweet, gooey topping that’s impossible to resist. We sit together, mugs of hot cocoa or coffee in hand, savoring each bite and the company of loved ones.

These moments are more than just about delicious treats; they’re about creating lasting memories and embracing the joy of the season. Each year, as we gather around the table, we’re reminded of the importance of togetherness and the simple pleasures that make the holidays truly magical.

Watch Step-by-Step Directions:

I hope this Christmas morning breakfast becomes just as beloved in your family as they are in mine. While making them from scratch is always an option, I find that spending quality time with my husband and kids, enjoying something quick and easy, is often what matters most.
