Whether you’re organizing a back-to-school gathering or responsible for providing snacks for the Open House, this delightful treat is sure to be a hit with everyone. Making these Cinnamon Roll Apples is incredibly easy; all you need is a can of cinnamon rolls!

I enjoy making a large batch of these Cinnamon Rolls for the kids on their first day back at school. They always appreciate beginning the day with a delightful treat, especially one as adorable as this!
We like take a moment to sit together, chatting about the new school year, their favorite subjects, and the friends they look forward to seeing again. These moments are precious, a comforting ritual that eases the transition and reminds us all of the simple joys in life. It’s a tradition that marks the beginning of a new chapter, filled with hope, excitement, and the promise of many more sweet moments to come.

Ingredients:
- Canned Pastry Dough: Cinnamon Rolls with Original Icing
- Food Coloring: Watkins Assorted Food Coloring -No Artificial Colors
Directions:
*Purchasing an 8-pack of cinnamon rolls will yield 6 delicious apple cinnamon rolls. To make more apple cinnamon rolls, purchase the double pack linked in the ingredients.
1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the package.
2. Take out Cinnamon Rolls. Carefully remove the cinnamon rolls from the can by unrolling them.
3. Create Apples. To form the shape of an apple, I take two cinnamon rolls from the pack and slice them into triangles to create the apple’s leafy top. Place apples on a baking sheet.

4. Bake. Once ready, slide the baking sheet into the oven. Follow the directions provided on the package for baking.
5. Prepare Icing. While you wait, prepare the icing by warming it slightly, so it spreads easily over the warm rolls. Take three-quarters of the icing and blend it with red food dye, then mix the remaining one-quarter with green food dye. Remember, you will always require more red icing than green.
6. Let Cool. Once the cinnamon rolls are done, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before icing. This helps avoid a messy situation when making the apple. Apply the red icing to the “apple” section of the cinnamon roll and the green icing to the “leaves.”

In addition to being a crowd-pleaser, these apple cinnamon rolls can also become a cherished tradition, signaling the start of a new school year filled with promise and excitement. Pair them with a glass of cold milk or a hot cup of coffee, and you have a comforting treat that brings people together and makes the start of the school year feel just a little bit sweeter. Happy Back-to-School!
