This week I updated our playroom bookshelves from Winter books to Valentine’s Day books. There are so many beautifully written children’s books that teach children all about what love means, how to show love, and why we celebrate Valentine’s Day. Each year when I pull out the Valentine’s book from the storage tote my heart fills with joy. I have so many memories of reading these sweet books to my babies who became toddlers and now one of them is reading the books to me. Full circle moment for sure.

Valentine’s Day Books
I have compiled a list of over 100+ Children’s Books on Amazon – all of which I highly recommend – for children of all ages. A great gift to give a child on Valentine’s Day is a book about love. I encourage you to take a moment to write a little love note in it for the recipient as a keepsake. A book is a gift a child will cherish into adulthood. The books people gave me as a gift as a child I still have and I love reading the inscriptions.
Frequently Asked Questions About My Bookshelves
The most common questions I receive are about the bookshelves I use and their spacing. My shelves are the Ikea Mosslanda measuring 45 1/4 inches. In case Ikea isn’t a shopping option for you, I’ve linked several similar styles in my Shop LTK.
They start 24 inches off the floor, allowing space for pillows and blankets underneath. The bookshelves are evenly spaced 18 inches apart.
Decorating the Space
I love to decorate my shelves with items from small shops because they are unique The sign is from Opal Plus Olive. I just love her signs for decorating Childrens bedrooms and playrooms. The shelfie sign is from Chalk Designs By Me and so is the XOXO tag.

The newest addition to our book nook is this beautiful PotteryBarn Teen faux fur bean bag. It’s perfect for relaxing and reading books. I got the medium size with the insert for Bristol for Christmas and she asked to put it in the playroom for reading.
I hope you find a Valentine’s Day book or two for your collection in my lists. Happy Reading and Happy Valentine’s Day!
